Fairy tales of the nations - pictures and words; a book that will lead us in colourful succession from antiquity to modern times through the narrative art of all periods and peoples. - Some information: "Sindbad the Sailor" is taken from Arabian Nights, these are tales of his travels in short, concise form. - "Don Quixote de la Mancha", is a selection of the heroic exploits of the unforgettable knight taken from the masterpiece by the Spaniard Miguel de Cervantes. - "Dilldapp", a German fairy tale, freely adapted from Clemens Brentano. - "Master Flea ", a new version based on the motifs of E. T. A. Hoffmann. - "The Goloshes of Fortune" has been compiled from Andersen's well known fairy tale. - "Hop-Frog", inspired by the work of the same name by the American writer Edgar Allan Poe. - "The Three Divine Brothers" is a re-telling of an ancient Indo-Germanic folk tale. - The essence has been taken from all these stories, tedious detail and length have everywhere been eliminated. - "Bobby Box" - "The Chinese Nightingale" - "M'sieur Bonbon" - "Captain Flint" - "That is Success!!" and all the others are original works by Stefan Mart published here for the first time.
